Entry Criteria
To enter The Makers Prize, your business and product must meet the following requirements:
Products must be crafted by your business using genuine handmade techniques.
No more than 10 employees, keeping the focus on independent makers.
Products must be made and sold in the UK — you may, in addition, sell internationally.
Products must comply with UK regulations (e.g., CSPR for cosmetics), have appropriate insurance, and not be tested on animals.
The entry must be your own creation and not copied from another maker.
Each entry requires two photographs and three full-size retail products to be submitted for judging. The products submitted must be identical to those sold to customers in formulation, size, weight/volume, labelling, and packaging. Entrants must have the authority to grant The Makers Prize permission to use images online, in press releases, and other media. All photographs must be original and captured from the actual product; AI-generated images are not permitted.
Each entry must include a brief product description (max 250 words) highlighting inspiration, materials, process, or story. Please include weight, fragrance, texture, and any special features. Include also links to your business Instagram (or other social media profile for your business) and to your website if you have one.
